Submission Guidelines

Intégral invites articles on a broad range of musical topics, including theory, analysis, and criticism. We pursue an implicit mandate to explore and exploit the increasing pluralism of the music-theoretic field.

Format:

Typescripts must be in the form of either a .doc or .rtf file. Musical examples and figures should be sent as separate files, or embedded within a separate .doc file, and the locations of the examples should be clearly indicated in the text. The musical examples should be picture files (.tif, .jpg or .png) that are "picture-ready" (minimum 300ppi). Note that we do not accept hand-written musical examples; it is the author's responsibility to set his/her own examples in a notation software program. Securing permissions to reproduce copyrighted material is the author's responsibility. Regarding style and format for text and footnotes, contributors should consult the Chicago Manual of Style. The author's name should only appear in the cover letter.

Deadlines:

Intégral accepts submissions throughout the year. Receipt of all manuscripts will be acknowledged by letter or email. Decisions regarding publication take approximately four months.

Addresses:

Articles, publications for review, and editorial correspondence should be sent to the editor as an email attachment. If you prefer, you can also send a hard-copy of your materials to our mailing address:
