What is the form of the opening 30 measures? Does the texture change?
How are the accompanying trichords in the opening created from rows?
At mm. 27-28 how many rows are going on at once? What is their relationship (use the matrix program to find combinatoriality)
Read the rest of the twelve-tone online handout and apply as much of it as you can to your analysis of these opening bars (combinatoriality, invariance, etc.)
Listen to the whole movement and sketch out the form by listening -- how would you describe this "twelve-tone sonata" -- how does Schoenberg differentiate the sections -- and does he create analogies to tonal sonatas? (that you can hear?)
